Sorry to be so late to reply. It's been a busy summer (I'm trying to tutor my soon-to-be 10 year old, and catch her up on a year's worth of math over the summer). I keep going up to the computer for a bit of "me" time and then falling asleep over it before I get anything much done!
I lived in Greece and Palestine as a kid, and I experienced first hand the way that different cultures interpret things through the lens of their own habitual view of the world, and how the emphasis and the focus can shift radically and unpredictably based on cultural norms and biases. That's the hard part when dealing with another culture. We all have our blindspots and our areas of hyperfocus, and we are perhaps the worst judges of exactly what those are!
