I'm very glad you enjoyed the fleshed out version. I was a little concerned that you might not like it as much because there it that element of pathos to the longer version that is glossed over in the short form, so the short version is more of a "laugh riot".

Spider Pig (Pssst! Please don't turn me in to the Chronopolice!) is a bit of cheating for the laugh, which is why I wasn't explicit about exactly what Simpsons thing Jack and Spider Pig were watching. The Simpsons Movie came out in 2007, when Jack was already a general, and SG-1 the series was coming to a close. But if it were possible for Jack to somehow have foreknowledge of it, it is certainly the name he'd want to name his pig above all others, so I endulged him. It's important to keep the characters happy, or maybe the next time I want to play with them they won't cooperate! Or at least that's my excuse...

and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is travelled by dark feet and dark wings.

Up in the morning early;
When a' the hills are covered wi' snaw,
I'm sure it's winter fairly.

Moss covered paths between scarlet peonies,
Pale jade mountains fill your rustic windows.

Butterflies swirling in your dreams.
